Journals to Watch Out
In order to be recognized for the value of the research achievements, it is necessary to screen journals to be careful for submitting and it provides the relevant information.
What are the journals to watch out for?
- Predatory journals, publishers or academic conferences seduce researchers with fake information by exploiting the necessity for researchers to present their work.
- Since they do not conduct the normal scientific verification process (peer review), seek financial benefits such as submission fees, make research achievements useless by disappearing with the research results, the damages are serious.
Characteristics of journals to watch out for
- They send spam e-mails to a large number of unspecified researchers to encourage submission of papers, stating that they ensure quick review and high publication rates.
- A large number of low quality papers are published because research contents are not verified due to lack of or not having a peer review.
- Aims and scopes of the journals are ambiguous and broad and they also publish papers that do not fit the subject.
- Fake editors are introduced on the society’s website and famous researchers are promoted as the editors without their permissions.
- They manipulate the value of the journals by providing false information about the journals’ being listed in SCI/E, SCOPUS or MEDLINE and ISSN and IF.
- They have similar names to famous journal names and decorate their websites with similar configurations and designs to academic journals.
